THE ROLE:
The Regional Field Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of cabling and infrastructure installations and maintenance across Aervivo’s community networks. This will include surveying new projects, directly managing field technicians and contractors, and ensuring that all installations and maintenance work meets strict design specifications, maintenance schedules and quality standards.
In this role, you will work with the network operations, field operations and project management teams, ensuring seamless execution of installations and proactive maintenance, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of low-voltage systems with proven leadership abilities, organizational skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively manage multiple priorities including technician supervision and development, work scheduling and coordination, warehouse and supply chain management, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement.
You must hold a license for low-voltage installations in MA and have at least 10 years of experience installing and maintaining low-voltage systems.
The Regional Field Manager will work closely with the Director of Field Operations to identify opportunities for enhancement and implement best practices across the organization.
Team Leadership & Technician Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of low-voltage cabling technicians across the Massachusetts region
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective action plans when necessary
- Lead recruitment efforts including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new technicians
- Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Address personnel issues promptly and professionally in coordination with HR
- Develop career advancement pathways and succession planning for high-performing technicians
Scheduling & Work Coordination
- Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly technician schedules to optimize resource utilization
- Coordinate with Project Managers to understand job requirements, timelines, and resource needs
- Assign appropriate skill levels to job requirements, ensuring technician capabilities match project complexity
- Manage overtime and labor costs while maintaining service quality and meeting deadlines
- Respond to schedule changes, emergencies, and last-minute customer requests with flexibility and efficiency
- Track technician availability, vacation schedules, and training commitments
Project Management Collaboration
- Partner with Project Managers to develop and maintain productivity reports and performance metrics
- Analyze labor hours, job costs, and efficiency data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Provide accurate labor forecasts and capacity planning input for bidding and project planning
- Communicate project status, potential delays, and resource constraints proactively
- Review and validate technician time entries and job completion documentation
Warehouse & Supply Chain Management
- Oversee operations of the Massachusetts regional warehouse including inventory, organization, and security
- Coordinate Bill of Materials (BOM) procurement for projects, working with vendors and purchasing department
- Track material costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate with suppliers when appropriate
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
- Conduct regular quality inspections of completed installations
- Review and verify cable testing documentation and certification reports for accuracy and completeness
- Follow quality control processes and checklists to maintain consistent workmanship standards
- Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance across all field operations and warehouse activities; ensure that all technician work is completed in compliance with local, state and national codes and regulations
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations as required
- Ensure proper PPE usage, equipment maintenance, and adherence to site-specific safety requirements
Training & Development
- Design, implement, and oversee technical training programs for new and existing technicians
- Develop training materials including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and best practice guides
- Mentor technicians on advanced techniques, troubleshooting methodologies, and customer service excellence
- Lead or facilitate regular technical knowledge-sharing sessions and lessons learned discussions
Strategic Operations & Process Improvement
- Collaborate with Director of Field Operations to identify operational inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Analyze field operations data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas requiring attention
- Develop and implement creative solutions to enhance productivity
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives and contribute to departmental goals and objectives
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or related field preferred

- 10 years of leading field operations teams, overseeing the team development, fostering a safety-first culture and upholding compliance with codes, regulations and quality assurance standards
- Strong organizational, communication, time management and problem-solving skills are essential.

- Proficiency in data entry and administrative tasks
- Expert knowledge of structured cabling systems including copper (Cat 5e through Cat 8) and fiber optic networks with in-building environments
- Knowledge of IP and Ethernet networking fundamentals
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures
