Employment Type: Temporary / Contract

Contract Duration: 3 months (Starting ASAP - December '26)

Pay Rate: $23–$28 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week


Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Low Voltage Technician for a three-month contract assignment in Childress, Texas. The technician will assist with the installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage cabling and related systems.


The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with low-voltage wiring, cable routing, equipment installation, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to completing projects on schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, route, label, terminate, and test low-voltage cables.
  • Install and maintain network cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and other applicable cabling systems.
  • Assist with installing telecommunications, security, access control, and other low-voltage equipment as required.
  • Read and follow installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
  • Troubleshoot cabling issues and resolve installation deficiencies.
  • Use hand tools, cable testers, and other installation equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate cable labeling and documentation.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures, electrical codes, and project requirements.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Coordinate with project supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in low-voltage installation, telecommunications, structured cabling, or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with cable pulling, termination, labeling, and testing.
  • Ability to use common hand tools and cable-testing equipment.
  • Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and installation plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work a full-time schedule.
  • Ability to lift equipment and materials and work from ladders or in confined spaces when required.

Contract Details

  • Three-month temporary assignment.
  • Full-time work schedule, subject to project requirements.
  • Hourly compensation based on qualifications and experience.
  • Overtime may be available based on project needs and applicable wage requirements.
