Advanced Armor Research Group (AARG) is a privately-held American company that provides technical support for US military vehicles and platforms for Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen. Our team provides the technical knowledge for materials, manufacturing and assembly processes required for customer projects. We also provide on-site program management and Software Configuration Management (SCM) support, as well as procuring materials to meet project needs.

CAD/PAD Technology Development Branch:

E24 Technology branch provides engineering expertise to develop, qualify and certify Cartridge Actuated and Propellant Actuated Devices (CAD/PAD). CAD/PAD are used across all military services in a variety of roles or functions, usually as a component of larger systems. The Technology Development Branch supports the program office and the prime weapons systems manufacturer (Aircrafts, Missiles, Launchers etc.) and their suppliers throughout the development to ensure that pertinent requirements and validation criteria for the components are adequately defined to obtain qualifications and certifications for fleet use. The branch maintains a strong technology base to provide technical expertise for CAD/PAD design, manufacturing and operational problems, and determines safety, reliability, performance and hazard characteristics of CAD/PAD. CAD/PAD items include Initiators, Squibs, Time Delays, Fire Extinguisher Cartridges, Detonators, Shielded Mild Detonating Cords, Linear Shaped charge, Cutters, Thrusters, Explosive Actuated Valves, Pin Pullers, Rocket Motors, Gas Generators, Catapults, Divergence Motors.

The Branch also provides technical support, consultation and project execution for CAD/PAD ranging from development of new devices, improvement/redesign for in-service items, alternate source/design development, service life assessment and research for introducing new technologies into the CAD/PAD product line. The branch develops and defines requirements and test methods to evaluate and validate CAD/PAD products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role primarily consists of providing engineering support for CAD/PAD products. The

applicant shall work on site with the Engineering team. Other duties may include, but are not

limited to:

• Provide technical support on various engineering projects both individually and as part of an engineering team.
• Provide technical support in developing new designs for cartridge actuated and propellant actuated devices.
• Conduct research and analysis to develop, qualify and improve overall performance and safety of CAD/PAD products.
• Develop technical approaches and proposals to integrate new technologies into CAD/PAD products line.
• Participate and contribute to the team in developing proposals, project plans, specifications, technical data packages, test plans, and reports.
• Conduct/witness testing of CAD/PAD products.
• Coordinate and manage overall project execution (technical, schedule, and cost).
• Brief project progress and technical analysis to upper management and sponsors.

Skills:

• Excellent critical thinker with ability to validate requirements and solve problems given limited information.
• Capable of assisting in or providing solutions and technical recommendations to complex design problems.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and the ability to produce Level II/III engineering drawings.
• Ability to form relationships with various organizations.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to execute multiple projects and prioritize tasking as needed to meet the requirements and milestones.
