Location: Reston, VA

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Required

Advanced Applications Group LLC (AAG) is seeking a Textile Engineer specializing in Textile Prototypes to join our innovative team in support of our Government Client in Reston, VA. This unique role is ideal for an individual with a blend of creative and technical expertise in textile engineering, capable of transforming ideas into tangible, cutting-edge textile prototypes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced textile prototypes in alignment with project requirements.
  • Utilize engineering principles and in-depth knowledge of textiles to create innovative solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to bring prototype concepts to life.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and refinement of prototypes to ensure compliance with high standards of quality and functionality.
  • Document the development process thoroughly, providing clear communication to stakeholders on progress and outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous research to incorporate new materials and technologies into prototype development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven track record in textile prototype development, showcasing innovative design and execution.
  • Proficient in CAD and other engineering software relevant to textile design.
  • Strong analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective teamwork and project documentation.
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Textile Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience with smart textiles, wearable technologies, and other emerging textile innovations.
  • A portfolio demonstrating past projects and prototypes that indicates a history of successful textile innovations.
