In this role, you will guide students through the college admissions process by helping them select best-fit schools, develop application narratives, and stay on track with deadlines. You’ll also support them in preparing for interviews, building résumés, navigating testing, and ensuring consistent progress toward their goals.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Providing personalized guidance to students throughout the college admissions process
  • Helping students build a well-rounded list of best-fit colleges based on academic, social, and financial factors
  • Support students with testing and submission strategies
  • Coach students on narrative building and activity lists
  • Track student progress, setting milestones, and ensuring accountability
  • Taking detailed notes during student meetings and maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success Team to ensure the  students and families to ensure the timely completion of tasks
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with students, families, and team members
  • Managing multiple student caseloads while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality support
  • Attending team meetings, L&D sessions, and staying current on college admissions trends
  • Demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive work style



What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in college counseling, admissions, and/or education for Senior Counselor, 2+ years for College Counselor. Direct experience working as an admissions officer or seasonal reader for a top 20 university or Ivy League institution is strongly preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. college admissions process, including application platforms (e.g. Common App), financial aid (FAFSA, CSS Profile), and standardized testing (SAT/ACT)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with students and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple students and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient in using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, and CRM or student tracking systems
  • Ability to take clear, concise notes and maintain thorough documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to accommodate student and family schedules
  • Passion for education and a commitment to helping students succeed
