ADL Ventures is on a mission to reinvent how America builds. We’re looking for a construction-savvy economist who can turn chaos into clarity—someone who wants to make Industrialized Construction the new standard. You’ll lead development of a first-of-its-kind model comparing modular, panelized, and conventional building economics and timelines and then manage that model as a core ADL asset. Over time, you’ll grow into a leadership role within ADL’s Industrialized Construction practice, helping steer high-impact projects across the built-environment ecosystem.

This is not a government-contractor post. It’s an entrepreneurial seat inside a venture-studio that builds new businesses out of uncertainty. If you thrive on making sense of the “impossible” and want your career to define the future of construction, you belong here.

This role combines construction cost engineering, manufacturing economics, and AI-driven analytics to produce fast, accurate, and data-backed comparisons of panelized vs. modular vs. conventional construction costs and performance. The goal is to enable our clients to build faster, more affordably, and at higher quality using manufacturing principles.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead development of an IC economic model(s) quantifying lifecycle cost, schedule, and performance differences between conventional and industrialized construction methods
  • Translate complex datasets (labor, materials, factory utilization, supply chain logistics, IC transport, soft costs) into a clear, defensible model architecture.
  • Integrate AI-based tools to automate and improve estimating workflows and accuracy
  • Quantify savings from speed, scale, and quality in industrialized construction
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and field teams to create total installed cost models
  • Present findings and defend assumptions to public and private (developers, general contractors) stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years preferred in construction and/or manufacturing economics (manufacturing cost modeling, factory utilization, and scale economics etc.)
  • 5+ years of building/refining models using data science tools (PowerBI, Python, Tableau, or AI-based cost tools)
  • Strong understanding of construction cost estimating
  • Familiarity with RSMeans, Monte Carlo simulation, TRACES/PACES
  • Understanding of manufacturing / production economics, including factory utilization, takt-time, throughput, and learning-curve effects and/or offsite construction
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate economic results clearly
  • Strategic, data-driven mindset and comfort operating in emerging technology environments
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain modeling logic to both engineers and executives

Nice to Have:

  • Prior Military experience.
  • Startup experience and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Familiarity with prefabrication, modular, or off-site construction.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior analysts and integrating multiple data sources into unified dashboards
  • Exposure to AI-assisted estimating or predictive cost-modeling tools.

Why ADL Ventures:

At ADL, we partner with Fortune 500s and federal agencies to launch real ventures that change how the built environment works. This role offers a career-defining opportunity: you’ll start by building a model that helps industrialize the construction industry with advanced manufacturing and AI — and grow into a leadership voice shaping America’s Industrialized Construction movement. You’ll work alongside recognized leaders in IC, innovation, and venture creation—and help turn new ideas into reality.
