Join our strong and growing Publications and Medical Affairs team. Acumen Medical Communications, a leader in medical writing services, is looking for a full-time remote Senior Medical Writer. The Senior Medical Writer will primarily support the writing and development of clinical and scientific abstracts, manuscripts, posters, and presentations and medical affairs deliverables. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, writing, and development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, congress abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and other scientific communication materials in alignment with client objectives and publication plans.
- Collaborate closely with authors, key opinion leaders, and cross-functional teams (medical, clinical, regulatory, and biostatistics) to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to journal and congress guidelines.
- Interpret complex clinical and scientific data, ensuring data integrity and scientific rigor across deliverables.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with accountability for timelines, quality standards, and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Good Publication Practice (GPP 2022), ICMJE, PhRMA, and client-specific standards for transparency and authorship.
- Support medical affairs initiatives, such as scientific platforms, medical response documents, and training materials, as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for assigned projects and identifying opportunities for continued collaboration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing scientific and medical content for conferences and medical journals in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline; advanced degree (PhD, PharmD) preferred.
- Strong understanding of clinical research design, data interpretation, and ethical publication standards.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and project management skills with attention to accuracy and scientific credibility.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and work independently.
- Experience developing content for broader medical affairs team use is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant software tools.
- Proficiency with Smart Sheet and InDesign is a plus.
