Contract Duration: 7 Months (June – December 2026), with possibility of extension

Hours: 9–15 hours per week

Compensation: $3,500/month

Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor

Location: Remote, with occasional presence in San Antonio/Bexar County, Texas preferred

ACT 4 SA Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) organization working alongside our sister 501(c)(3) organization, ACT 4 SA, to advance lasting criminal justice reform in Bexar County, Texas. We believe that lobbying and elections must go hand-in-hand with grassroots action to transform safety across Bexar County and Texas. Our work includes statewide coalition building, legislative advocacy, ballot initiatives, and electoral engagement to build progressive power in San Antonio. 


ACT4SA Action PAC engages in the electoral process to build a public safety system in Texas that is accountable, compassionate, and transparent. We work to elect leaders who reject mass incarceration as the solution to safety and champion policies rooted in equity, community well-being, and justice reform.


Position Overview

ACT 4 SA Action Fund seeks an experienced Individual Giving Specialist to grow our individual donor base and secure political contributions for our 501(c)(4) and PAC operations. This role is critical to building the grassroots-funded political power we need to win in November 2026 and beyond.


The successful candidate will design and execute a comprehensive individual giving strategy to secure $150,000 in revenue during the 7-month contract period. This work will directly support our 2026 electoral priorities and beyond, including endorsements and independent expenditures for local races and our nonpartisan judicial voter guide.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement a targeted donor acquisition campaign aligned with organizational priorities, 2026 electoral goals, and 2026-2027 programmatic work
  • Set and track monthly fundraising targets to achieve the $75,000–$150,000 revenue goal
  • Coordinate with leadership to ensure fundraising activities support legislative advocacy and electoral work

Donor Acquisition & Cultivation

  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential individual donors aligned with criminal justice reform
  • Manage outreach pipelines and execute solicitations through multiple channels including direct mail, email, phone, and face-to-face meetings
  • Represent ACT 4 SA Action Fund and/or ACT4SA Action PAC at community events, donor meetings, and fundraising activities as needed

Donor Stewardship & Retention

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing donors to ensure retention and encourage repeat giving
  • Ensure all donors understand how their political dollars will be used to challenge harmful systems and build a more just approach to public safety Manage donor records, acknowledgments, thank you notes, and compliance reporting in the organization's CRM system

Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide weekly or bi-weekly updates to leadership on progress toward fundraising targets
  • Track and report donor acquisition metrics, conversion rates, and campaign performance data
  • Document lessons learned to strengthen grassroots fundraising infrastructure beyond this contract


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in political fundraising, individual giving, or development for 501(c)(4) organizations, PACs, or electoral campaigns
  • Demonstrated understanding of 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC fundraising rules and compliance requirements
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding individual donor revenue targets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate a compelling case for support
  • Experience with donor management tools
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to criminal justice reform and alignment with ACT 4 SA Action Fund's mission and values 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience fundraising for criminal justice reform, racial justice, or grassroots organizing efforts
  • Existing connections to donor networks in Texas
  • Personal experience with the impacts of policing or mass incarceration
