Job Description: IT Instructor

Location: Pine Knot Pine Knot, KY

Shift: M-F 8am - 4pm


The IT Instructor at Pine Knot Job Corps Center in Pine Knot, KY. The instructor collaborates with academic staff, career counselors, residential teams, and center leadership to create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment that promotes student achievement, professionalism, and successful transition into employment or continuing education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Experience teaching, training, or working in an information technology environment
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, operating systems, and basic cybersecurity concepts
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent
  • Experience in a Job Corps, vocational education, or workforce development environment
  • Experience developing lesson plans and competency-based instruction
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technology
  • Experience preparing students for industry certification exams

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in information technology concepts and applications
  • Develop lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments aligned with program objectives
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic coaching and individualized support
  • Maintain accurate attendance, performance, and training records
  • Ensure students follow safety procedures and proper use of computer labs and equipment
  • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and employment opportunities
  • Collaborate with center staff to support student success, retention, and career readiness
