About the Role

In this position, you'll provide counseling, education, and intervention services that help students work through substance abuse challenges, build lasting coping strategies, and maintain a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle. It's meaningful, hands-on work with real impact on young lives.


What You'll Do

  • Lead individual and group counseling sessions on substance abuse prevention, recovery, and life skills
  • Assess student needs through screenings, intake interviews, and ongoing evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with Job Corps guidelines
  • Provide crisis intervention and connect students to outside treatment resources when needed
  • Partner with center staff, healthcare providers, and community organizations for holistic student support
  • Facilitate workshops on substance abuse awareness, prevention, and healthy decision-making
  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records and progress reports
  • Champion a safe, drug-free center environment


What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalent Montana certification — required
  • 2+ years of substance abuse counseling experience, ideally with adolescents or young adults
  • Strong grounding in counseling techniques, recovery models, and community resources
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
  • Comfort working collaboratively in a diverse, student-centered setting


Nice to Have

  • Experience in educational or residential program settings
  • Familiarity with Job Corps policies and federal guidelines
  • Bilingual ability
