Job Summary:
Academy Primary Care seeks a motivated and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our independent primary care medical practice. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the clinic and providing exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will range from assisting physicians during examinations and treatments to handling administrative tasks that contribute to the overall patient experience. Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients, creating a warm and friendly environment
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and medical procedures
- Record vital signs, medical histories, and other pertinent patient information accurately
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by physicians
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment
- Manage and update electronic health records (EHR) proficiently
- Schedule patient appointments and handle phone calls effectively
- Process insurance information and assist with billing and administrative tasks
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care and outcomes
- Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Current Medical Assistant certification or licensure
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting; experience in primary care is a plus
- Proficiency in basic medical procedures and patient care techniques
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
