Job Title: Marketing Specialist

Reports to: Deputy Director

Status: Temporary, Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Remote, Some Travel Required



Expected Weekly Schedule and Hours: This position is expected to average 15–22 hours per week, generally worked during mutually agreed-upon regular working hours. Some variation in hours and schedule will be required around major campaigns, meetings, and the annual International Congress.

 

Position Overview:

The Marketing Specialist will play a critical role in enhancing the visibility and impact of the Academic Consortium through strategic marketing initiatives and promoting internal and external events. A significant focus of this role will include content planning, development, production, and distribution across all print and digital channels. This position will collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and external vendors to ensure effective marketing campaigns, up-to-date print and digital materials, and strict adherence to all brand standards.


This position requires periodic business travel, including multi-day and overnight travel and attendance at the Academic Consortium’s annual International Congress and annual staff retreat. The ability to travel as required, with or without reasonable accommodation, is an essential function of this position.


This Marketing Specialist role is initially offered for a 12-month period on a part-time basis, from October 2026 through October 2027, with the potential to evolve into a full-time or ongoing part-time position based on organizational needs and mutual fit.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Communications

  • Manage all organization email communications, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Support communications needs related to the organization's online member community.
  • Manage and update the organization's website and microsites, ensuring content accuracy, usability, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote membership, programs, and events.
  • Create compelling content for websites, newsletters, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Manage social media platforms, ensuring consistent branding and timely updates.
  • Design and coordinate production and distribution of marketing collateral, including flyers, brochures, and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with the membership team to share member stories, thought leadership, and updates.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage International Congress final report design, production, and distribution.
  • Serve as a steward of the organization’s brand and communications standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy across channels.

 

Event and Program Marketing

  • Coordinate all communications promoting both internal and external events across all channels.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing and communications for the Academic Consortium’s programs, webinars, meetings, and annual International Congress.
  • Support International Congress communications, marketing deliverables, planning, and on-site execution as needed.

 

Additional Duties As Assigned

  • The Academic Consortium programming is ever evolving to meet the needs of our members and the priorities of the organization. The Marketing Specialist will be an integral part of the dynamic, flexible team that supports this evolution.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within a nonprofit, association, or healthcare setting.
  • Proven track record in content marketing, including content planning, writing, production, and distribution.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, Hootsuite, Canva) and Microsoft platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with integrative health, healthcare education, or association environments.
  • Basic graphic design skills for creating marketing materials.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and event management software.
  • Experience supervising and/or mentoring interns or junior staff members.


Salary

$27 - $33 per hour
