Job Title: Marketing & Events Specialist 

Reports to: Deputy Director  

Status: Full-Time, Exempt  

Location: Remote, Some Travel Required 

Salary Range: $54,000 - $64,000 per year 

 

Position Overview: 

The Marketing & Events Specialist will play a critical role in enhancing the visibility and impact of the Academic Consortium through strategic marketing initiatives and well-executed events. A significant focus of this role will be the planning, coordination, and execution of the Consortium's International Congress, alongside other virtual and in-person events. This position will collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and external vendors to ensure seamless event experiences and effective marketing campaigns. 


This position requires periodic business travel, including attendance at organizational and external conferences, in-person meetings, and partner convenings. The ability to travel as required is an essential function of this role. 


Key Responsibilities: 

Marketing & Communications 

  • Manage all organization email communications, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery. 
  • Support communications needs related to the organization's online member community. 
  • Manage and update the organization's website and microsites, ensuring content accuracy, usability, and alignment with brand standards. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote membership, programs, and events. 
  • Create compelling content for websites, newsletters, social media, and email campaigns. 
  • Manage social media platforms, ensuring consistent branding and timely updates. 
  • Design and coordinate production and distribution of marketing collateral, including flyers, brochures, and digital assets. 
  • Collaborate with the membership team to share member stories, thought leadership, and updates. 
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. 


Event Planning and Management  

  • Support the implementation and execution of the International Congress, including (but not limited to) logistics, programming, speaker coordination, submissions and dispositions, registration, exhibitor management, congress sponsorship management, and overall event logistics, working closely with other team members, volunteers, and the conference planning partner. 
  • Coordinate with venues, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful event delivery. 
  • Collaborate on event timelines and task lists, ensuring milestones are met. 
  • Manage all event technology platforms and provide technical support during virtual or hybrid events. 
  • Work closely with volunteers and committees to align event programming with organizational goals. 
  • Oversee post-event evaluations and final report production, compiling feedback and recommendations for future improvements. 


General Event Support 

  • Coordinate all external conference needs, including attending external conferences as needed. 
  • Manage inventory and distribution of ACIMH conference and event materials. 
  • Plan and coordinate additional virtual and in-person member events, including webinars, workshops, and networking sessions. 
  • Ensure effective event promotion through targeted marketing campaigns. 
  • Manage event registrations, communications, and attendee support. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing and event planning, preferably within a nonprofit, association, or healthcare setting. 
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale events, including conferences or congresses. 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, Hootsuite, Canva) and event platforms (e.g., Cvent, Zoom Events). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. 
  • Experience working with volunteer committees is a plus. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Familiarity with integrative health, healthcare education, or association environments. 
  • Basic graphic design skills for creating marketing materials. 
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and event management software.
