This is a Full-Time Teaching position at the A+ Charter School, which is a Middle School and High School level campus. To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning & Instruction:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning through project-based and cooperative learning methods.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments in line with established curriculum procedures.
  • Utilize relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the effective use of learning materials and educational equipment.
  • Classroom Management & Student Support:
  • Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, utilizing positive intervention and behavioral support strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student work, projects, and assessments.
  • Encourage and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly to ensure each student's success.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, behavior, and development.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Participate in departmental, school, and parent meetings to discuss student progress and curriculum developments.
  • Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and academic needs.
  • Facilitate communication about student needs with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assessment & Reporting:
  • Assign and grade student work, projects, assessments, and assignments.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development, adjusting teaching approaches as necessary.
  • Prepare required reports on student progress, attendance, and activities in compliance with school and district policies.
  • Advisory & Student Development:
  • Facilitate an Advisory Group, including lessons aligned to the annual theme and personalized learning plans.
  • Guide students in the development of personalized learning plans (PLPs) and support their progress within Academic Success Groups.
  • Encourage a focus on holistic student development, including academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Professional Development & Extracurricular Activities:
  • Engage in appropriate professional development activities to continuously improve instructional practices.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, social events, and other student organizations as directed.
  • Parent & Community Engagement:
  • Foster parent and community involvement through open communication and participation in school events.
  • Promptly return phone calls and emails, providing necessary information to parents when requested.
  • Other Duties:
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated supervisor.

  • Education & Certification:
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Education, a related field of teaching, or content area from an accredited institution.
  • Arizona State certification in teaching for the appropriate subject area(s) (preferred).
  • Must pass a criminal background check and hold a valid fingerprint clearance card.
  • Preferred: Coaching Experience and/or Volleyball Coaching Experience.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and team members.
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse classrooms and implement project-based learning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of and experience using relevant educational technology to support and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ability to develop and deliver lesson plans in alignment with curriculum standards, utilizing various instructional materials and tools.
  • Professional & Organizational Requirements:
  • Meet all professional teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state.
  • Flexibility to perform other related work and duties as delegated to support the overall objectives of the school program.


Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year
