Role Summary:
The Kids Manager works alongside the Kids Director to lead and oversee the spiritual development of kids as well as creating a fun and safe environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- This role will work in collaboration with the Kids Director to accomplish the following:
- Lead and oversee age-appropriate teaching, activities, and resources that foster children's spiritual growth, creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for children from infancy through 5th grade.
- Recruit, care for, encourage, and support Kids Ministry volunteers by building relationships, providing ongoing communication, and helping them thrive in their roles.
- Train and equip teachers across all age groups, ensuring they have the resources, confidence, and support needed to effectively teach the curriculum and lead their classrooms.
- Implement, organize, and adapt curriculum for Sunday gatherings, ensuring it aligns with the vision and values of the ministry while creating an engaging learning experience for every age group.
- Develop opportunities and resources that encourage parents to actively participate in their children's spiritual growth.
- Assist in planning and implementing outreach initiatives that engage the community and welcome new families, supporting the overall growth of the Kids Ministry.
- Ensure the Kids Ministry aligns with the church's overall vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Lead and actively participate in all Kids Ministry gatherings and events while assisting with church-wide gatherings and special events as needed.
- Help plan, organize, and execute children's ministry events throughout the year, including seasonal programs, family events, and outreach opportunities.
- Ensure the facilities and environments for children are conducive to safe, effective teaching and care, in alignment with the needs outlined by the Kids Director.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Enthusiasm and a passion to reach kids for Jesus.
- Must have leadership skills, including team-building and the ability to motivate others.
- Philosophically and theologically in sync with AJC DNA
- Living within character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3v1-13
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable multitasking across multiple projects and timelines
- Able to translate ambiguous direction into a structured plan in order to effectively manage projects

- Expected to actively attend AJC and read and are in alignment with the core beliefs of AJC.

- Organized, responsible, action-oriented, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-starter with an inherent desire to achieve exceptional results.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes and last-minute needs.
- Good understanding of the English language, especially in written form.
- Familiarity with Apple operating systems and word-processing applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Pages, Google Docs, etc.) and Google Workspace applications (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Mail, etc.).
- Responds to all staff/volunteer correspondence in a timely manner.
- Attend all required gatherings, staff meetings, various all-staff events, staff retreats, and other meetings as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
