Position: Dental Front Receptionist

Reports To: Office Manager

Position Description: The Front Administrator will serve as the first point of contact for our patients. This means that having an upbeat positive attitude and professional demeanor are essential. You’ll greet patients, take their phone calls, and communicate with them and staff to ensure patient needs are being met. You will also help our office operate more effectively. This will include completing tasks like scheduling and canceling patient appointments, communicating with insurance providers, refilling office supplies, and filing documents, among others.

Responsibilities for Dental Front Receptionist:

  • Welcome and greet patients who enter the office warmly
  • Assist patients in filling out required forms
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments as needed through phone and online appointment systems.
  • Confirm upcoming appointments, recalls and fill any cancellations through patient outreach
  • Complete insurance verification and obtain breakdown of insurance benefits for upcoming appointments
  • Collect payment from patients and update patient ledgers in the system
  • Translating dental services into proper billable codes.
  • Complete and file insurance forms and dental billing records
  • Track and send patient balance statement
  • Maintain office inventory
  • Perform office duties such as document filing, scanning, and copying
  • Communicate with dental supply vendors
  • Assist in end of day office closing activities
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards and requirements in all interactions
  • Be a Team Player and assist team members as needed
  • Perform all duties with utmost honesty, integrity and humility

Qualifications for Dental Front Receptionist:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in office administration or a related field is preferred
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organization, time management and multitasking abilities.
  • An understanding of dental office procedures and workflow.
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Proficiency or ability to learn dental practice management software such as Dentrix or similar
  • Working knowledge of dental terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines


Salary

$18 - $23 per hour
