Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary team at 850 Therapy. In this role, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat children with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children, have experience with a range of pediatric speech and language disorders, and be enthusiastic about collaborating with a dynamic team of professionals.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assess & Diagnose: Perform comprehensive speech and language assessments for children, including evaluations of speech sound production, language development, social communication, fluency, voice, and feeding/swallowing skills.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each child’s specific communication and developmental needs. Incorporate family input to ensure that therapy goals align with family priorities and the child's daily routines.
  • Provide Therapy Interventions: Implement speech and language interventions, including but not limited to articulation therapy, language therapy, social communication skills, feeding/swallowing therapy, and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with pediatric physical therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to ensure an integrated, holistic approach to each child's care.
  • Family Education and Support: Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home. Provide training on language facilitation techniques, feeding strategies, and assistive communication tools to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Monitor Progress & Adjust Plans: Regularly track and document each child’s progress, adjusting treatment goals and techniques as necessary to maximize effectiveness and ensure continued development.
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate, up-to-date records of all assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and communication with families in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred. **New Grads seeking CFY will be considered
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language development, as well as common pediatric communication disorders.
  • Experience with speech sound disorders, language delays, fluency disorders, social communication, feeding and swallowing disorders, and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC).
  • Ability to design and implement creative and engaging therapy sessions for children of varying ages and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a diverse team and educate families effectively.
  • Compassion, patience, and adaptability when working with children and families in a variety of settings.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Certification in pediatric speech-language pathology or additional training in specific areas (e.g., feeding/swallowing therapy, autism spectrum disorders, AAC) is a plus.
  • Experience with using technology and AAC devices to support communication for non-verbal or minimally verbal children.
