Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at 850 Therapy. In this role, you will work closely with children, families, and other healthcare professionals to evaluate, treat, and support children facing challenges related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, daily living skills, and other developmental needs. You will play a key role in creating individualized treatment plans that help children achieve their functional goals and promote independence.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric populations, a passion for helping children thrive, and the ability to collaborate in a team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess & Evaluate: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children’s fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, self-help skills, and functional performance in daily activities.
- Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Create personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that address each child’s specific needs, focusing on improving motor skills, sensory integration, play skills, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Provide Therapeutic Interventions: Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to improve children’s fine motor skills, sensory processing, hand-eye coordination, self-care tasks, and social participation.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with physical therapists, speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other team members to provide integrated care for children and ensure that treatment plans are aligned with the child’s overall developmental goals.
- Family Education & Support: Provide families and caregivers with education and training on how to incorporate therapy techniques into daily routines and at-home activities to reinforce progress.
- Monitor & Document Progress: Regularly assess and document the child’s progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued growth and development. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for Children’s Needs: Serve as an advocate for children’s needs, ensuring that children’s physical, sensory, and developmental needs are considered in school, community, and home settings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices and therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to create and implement individualized therapy plans for children with varying developmental and physical needs.
- Experience with sensory processing challenges, fine motor skills development, and self-help skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and team members.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children and their families.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with a range of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, and neurological disorders.
- Specialized training or certifications in areas such as sensory integration therapy, feeding therapy, or handwriting programs.
