We provide short-term financial relief to undocumented and mixed-status families and advocate for long-term systems change to ensure equitable inclusion in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
Through our Rapid Response Network and Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF), we support families impacted by ICE enforcement across the Central Coast.
Position Summary
The Case Manager will provide short-term crisis case management to undocumented and mixed-status families impacted by immigration enforcement across Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties.
This is a 12-month, full-time position designed to support the Programs Manager during periods of high demand. The Case Manager will assist families in locating loved ones detained by ICE, coordinate referrals for immediate needs, conduct Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) intakes, and serve on rotation answering the Rapid Response hotline during working hours.
This position requires strong cultural competency, trauma-informed care practices, discretion, and the ability to operate in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Crisis Case Management
- Provide short-term, trauma-informed case management to families impacted by ICE enforcement
- Assist families in locating loved ones detained by ICE
- Provide guidance on detention processes and connect families to trusted legal resources
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure stabilization support
2. Disaster Relief & Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) Intake
- Conduct intake assessments for families seeking financial assistance
- Collect and verify documentation in accordance with EAF guidelines
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records
- Coordinate disbursement requests with Programs Manager
3. Immediate Needs & Referrals
- Connect families to community resources (legal, food, housing, utilities, mental health, etc.)
- Maintain updated referral list across tri-county region
- Coordinate with trusted service providers and coalition partners
4. Rapid Response Hotline (During Working Hours)
- Serve on duty answering the hotline during assigned shifts
- Document calls accurately and securely
- Escalate urgent enforcement activity according to internal protocols
- Maintain confidentiality and calm under pressure
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate case notes
- Track service data for reporting purposes
- Uphold confidentiality and digital security standards
Required Qualifications
- Multilingual: Fluent in English, Spanish, and Mixteco (required)
- Experience in case management, social services, community organizing, or crisis response
- Experience working with undocumented, immigrant, or farmworker communities
- Strong understanding of immigration enforcement impacts
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Reliable transportation for regional travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICE detention systems and processes
- Experience with hotline response systems
- Familiarity with tri-county service landscape
- Experience using case management databases

Compensation & Term
- Hourly pay: $20 to $26 per hour, depending on education and experience, and additional $150 monthly Hazard Pay.
- Mileage reimbursement will be determined based on state requirements.
