80 Acres is looking for enthusiastic, creative, and caring Summer Camp Counselors to join our team for the upcoming summer season. Our camp focuses on environmental education, sustainability, and outdoor adventures, aiming to inspire a love for nature and an understanding of climate justice among our campers. As a counselor, you will be instrumental in providing a fun, educational, and safe experience for children of various age groups.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Delivery: Lead and assist in the delivery of a wide range of camp activities, including environmental education, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises. Ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all campers.
  • Safety and Supervision: Monitor campers to ensure adherence to camp rules and safety guidelines. Be prepared to respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Encourage campers to engage with and learn about the natural environment. Promote principles of sustainability and climate justice through daily activities.
  • Camper Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive camp atmosphere. Support the social and emotional needs of campers, ensuring each child feels valued and included.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other camp staff to plan and execute activities. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to continuously improve the camp experience.


  • Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for environmental education.
  • Prior experience in camp counseling, teaching, or child care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of or strong interest in climate justice, sustainability, and outdoor education.
  • Ability to lead and participate in physical activities such as hiking, sports, and other outdoor adventures.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain before the start of camp.
  • Must pass a background check.
