Job Summary and Mission 

321 Coffee is a coffee shop and roaster built on inclusion. We aim to provide meaningful work experiences to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We believe in doing business the right way, and we’re looking for an individual who shares this passion for inclusion and belonging.  

321 Coffee is growing, and we are excited to hire an upbeat team of baristas to champion the 321 experience. This role is for someone who loves to work with other people, can work independently to process orders with great customer service, and has fun while doing it all. The baristas are essential in creating an inspiring and fun experience that is unique and inclusive to all.  

Baristas will have a “home” location where they take responsibility for that shop's staff and operations. Baristas will be available and sometimes expected to cover shifts at other 321 Coffee locations. 

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Assist in the opening, operating, and closing of the shop 
• Greet customers, answer customer questions, and describe menu offerings 
• Take orders accurately and process them through the point-of-sale system 
• Confirm order accuracy with customers 
• Prepare excellent drinks and products, following 321 Coffee recipes  
• Ensure work safety and cleanliness 
• Keep the shop efficiently running by anticipating needs 
• Create a welcoming environment for guests and our team 
• Engage with others to share the 321 Coffee mission 
• Other duties as assigned by 321 Coffee 

 

Basic Qualifications 

• Prior experience is not necessary 
• Ability to work at least 15 hours per week 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

• Eager to learn new skills 
• Request help when needed 
• Maintain strong communication skills  
• Engage with customers and provide outstanding customer service 
• Attend required shifts and maintain punctuality 
• Stay at the cafe throughout the entirety of the shift independently  
• Transport self to and from the bathroom independently, which may be in an off-site location (ex. Adjacent building) 
• Ability to accurately process orders and payments 
• Ability to work in the USA

Compensation 

From $9.00 an hour + tips (previously between $4.00 - $7.00 an hour)
