Your Little One’s Home Away From Home Welcome to Little Precious Angels Childcare in St. Louis, Missouri! We are a professional childcare center enrolling children from 0 weeks to 5 years of age. We offer high-quality childcare, before- and after-school care for ages 3-6 in St. Louis Public Schools Zoning area, however we do not offer transportation. Mission Statement It is the mission of Little Precious Angels Childcare to provide exceptional care and to provide each child a learning, nurturing and safe environment. Our goal is to support a child's desire to be a life-long learner. About Us Little Precious Angels Child Care Center opened in January 2011. During the next three years, LPACC saw a substantial growth. In July 2014 LPACC opened its first center which consisted of 10 children ranging from ages 6wks to 12yrs old. In July 2016, just a few years after LPACC first opened its doors, the center nearly doubled its square footage and, shortly thereafter, its enrollment doubled. In May 2016, a second daycare was added to accommodate a thriving community preschool program. In May 2019 Lpacc expanded our center to accommodate more children waiting for our services. With a larger preschool and our partners at Hatch Learning we were able to add smart boards to our preschool program.

Position Summary

The Preschool Float / Break Teacher provides classroom coverage across preschool rooms during staff breaks, planning time, absences, and transitions. This role ensures continuous supervision, safety, and consistency in daily routines while maintaining compliance with Missouri DESE licensing regulations and accreditation standards. The Preschool Float / Break Teacher must be flexible, dependable, and able to adapt quickly to different classroom environments.


Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an early childhood education setting
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 3–5)
  • Ability to manage a classroom independently for short periods

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential – Required
  • Preschool CDA preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED (minimum)
  • Active Missouri Professional Development (MOPD) account
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certification (Infant, Toddler, and Adult)
  • Completion of all Missouri DESE-required trainings, including but not limited to:
  • Child Abuse & Neglect
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Caring for Vulnerable Children
  • Must successfully complete:
  • Comprehensive background screening
  • Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR)
  • Fingerprinting (as required by Missouri)

Job Responsibilities

Classroom Coverage & Supervision

  • Provide temporary classroom coverage during staff breaks and absences
  • Maintain constant supervision of children at all times
  • Follow classroom schedules, routines, and behavior expectations
  • Ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios are maintained

Curriculum & Classroom Support

  • Follow established lesson plans and activities as directed
  • Support ongoing learning activities without disruption
  • Assist children with transitions, routines, and daily needs
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents
  • Report concerns or unusual behavior immediately
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces

Professionalism & Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively with Lead Teachers and Administration
  • Accept direction and feedback professionally
  • Support classroom teams as needed throughout the day
