Your Role
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews by providing timely feedback to peers in a constructive manner.
- Collaborate with 219ers across engineering disciplines during development.
- Advise less experienced engineers on the team on software design and development practices.
- Define and execute tasks required to complete projects with well-defined or open-ended requirements.
- Participate in weekly Software Discussion meetings to discuss best practices and share project triumphs and struggles that could benefit from the input of others.
- Chime in on our Slack channels when you see an opportunity to help out a colleague.
- Maintain awareness of the bigger picture context for 219 Design and our clients while executing tasks.
- Share your skills and knowledge with the team by participating in and presenting at weekly discussions.
Qualifications
- BS degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Proficiency with C++ development
- Track record of success with the development of complex systems
- Excited and able to work on medical and other safety-critical devices
- Exceptional communication skills
- Collaborative, but can also handle autonomy and self-management
- Must be able to come into one of our offices and/or client offices in the Bay Area.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Bonus Points
- Experience with GUI development using the Qt Framework
- Proficiency with bare-metal firmware for microcontrollers in C and/or C++
- Experience with test-driven development
- Experience with embedded systems

The final starting salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography.
