Your Role
- Take responsibility for system design, schematic capture, and PCB layout on a variety of projects, ranging from rapid proof-of-concept prototypes to complex medical devices.
- Architect, implement, and validate custom analog and digital electronics.
- Design power electronics, including battery management and low-power design.
- Design circuits supporting various wired and wireless communication protocols (USB, RS232, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, CAN, Bluetooth Low Energy, WiFi, Cellular, etc).
- Manage vendors for prototype PCB fabrication and assembly.
- Conduct hands-on prototyping, board bring-up, and hardware debugging.
- Collaborate closely with clients and interdisciplinary colleagues (mechanical and software/firmware engineering) to set objectives and timelines.
- Participate in design reviews, seeking and providing technical feedback to and from peers.
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables independently or as part of a small team.
- Share your skills and knowledge with the team by participating in and presenting at weekly discussions.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in the use of Altium
- Proficient in the use of standard test equipment: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
- Must be able to work regularly out of one of our offices in the Bay Area.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

- Experience with medical devices

- Additional experience in any/all: firmware/software development, mechanical design

The final starting salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography.
